Deeply personal explorations of the self in vivid, ‘90s revival indie-rock. From the dazzling soundscapes of Mazzy Star to the bittersweet pop of Juliana Hatfield. Finding strength in her vulnerability, THALA is writing her sharpest, boldest material yet. THALA has just wrapped up a joint UK tour in support of Independent Venue Week with a debut outing at Austin’s SXSW and later Brighton’s Great Escape festival also on the horizon. Having already won the backing of BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Wonderland Magazine, and Clash. Recalling the tangled indie-rock of Holly Humberstone, Soccer Mommy, and beabadoobee while underpinned by spiky, surging guitars, it unearths tenderness even as it rages. It seems to be her time as she’s played support to some well known international acts in the industry - Current Joys , Snail Mail, Surf Curse , Giant Rooks.
