Biography
Armand Mirpour, born in Teheran Iran, came to Sweden as a refugee at an early age. Growing up in the north of Sweden under a pseudonym, to avoid being targeted by relatives that denounced the escape of his mother, Armand’s first years were dramatic and poverty stricken. His mother and himself sharing single cans of tuna between them, the turning point came when Armand's mother got the opportunity for an education in the capital. After playing the part of a musician for a TV-series for which he learned to play the guitar and penned the songs for the character himself, Armand Mirpour was signed as a songwriter by Murlyn Music - the collective famed for producing Britney Spears “Toxic”. Armand released his debut album "Boy Will Sing For Directions Home" with Warner Music in 2012 after a bidding war between multiple labels. The album, containing the hit singles "I Am a Volcano" and "Curly Boys Law (Step Aside)" saw extensive air-time on radio stations around the Scandics and in France, with music videos accompanying every single off the album. The following year Armand negotiated out of his deal with Warner to work on his mental health, having experienced the depression he'd been struggling with since childhood reach new peaks as he attempted to live up to a persona he had adopted to spread positivity to his listeners and fans.
