Biography
A sponge in every sense of the word, Zac Chase learns something new every day. Surely he has a pocket-sized notebook and a pen on him this very second. He spends his time being weird, laughing at/with people, and soaking up ideas and perspectives from intentionally chosen sources. Lots of questions. Lots of stories. There’s one hell of an attention span in that noggin. This kid has been a creative powerhouse since he could wipe, and a skilled writer since grade school, but sharpened his love for language through hip-hop in his teenage years. Naturally an introvert, Zac joyfully waded his way through a quiet childhood in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by a growth-inducing college experience in Athens. Here, Zac developed a mantra that doubles as an acronym for his role as a SPONGE: Some People Only Need Good Energy. Since moving to Nashville, Tennessee at the close of 2020, this sponge bum has learned to let his freak flag fly. Particularly inspired by film directors, the silly fibers of reality, and weirdos that preceded him, Zac Chase writes cinematically and experimentally, testing the limits of his instrument — vocal cords. Welcome to the world of sponge, where good energy is our currency. zacchase.com
