Biography

The Stools are a garage punk trio from Detroit, Michigan. For over half a decade the band, consisting of Childhood friends Will Lorenz (guitar/vox) Krystian Quint (bass/vox) Charles Stahl (drums/power tools) has released a slew of EP’s, Albums, and singles across Wax, cassette,and digital alike through Third man Records, Drunken Sailor, Goodbye Boozy, BIg Neck Records and even their own Painters Tapes label. Howling 45 bin digging & shit kicker blues, with an obsession of side streets, crooked characters, and obscured local lore. The Stools have tirelessly gigged across the States from rundown Smokey dives way down south to local opening slots for Jack White, Raconteurs, The Gories, Surfbort, Reining Sound as well as festival spots on Levitation in Austin and muddy roots in Tennessee. In their most recent Studio session The Stools crammed into a defunct auto parts factory for two nights to hammer out a Split LP with their local accomplices Toeheads. Bursting at the seams with raw driving blues power Stooges/ MC5 worship and sock hop cold blooded grave stompers that would make any Dead Moon lover roll over in their Chelsea boots, the bands do their best to carry the torch of the cities relentless history of brash underground RnR & RnB.
