Simon Ajero, better known by his recording alias Hokage Simon, is a Filipino-American producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist, from Vallejo, California. The 24-year-old genre-bending artist molds his production inspirations from the likes of J Dilla, The Neptunes, and Toro y Moi while blending Kiefer-like piano melodies & Synth Lead solos inspired by George Duke. Learning piano at a young age and making his first beat while in high school, Simon has helped contribute to production for many artists throughout various genres. Whether it be the strings that he laid on “Love You Like I Do (feat. RITTYBO & Jammy) by G-Eazy”, the inebriating beat he produced for “ Jerry Curl (feat. Larry June) by Rexx Life Raj ”, his Rhodes solo he layered on “Luvaroq by Elujay”, or even his work on the gritty alternative gem in “megan fox by kezia”. Being born & raised in the Bay Area, Simon has been known for accompanying other Bay Area talents on tour with his piano playing such as Elujay, Thuy, LaRussell, and CRSB. Playing keys for these artists has allowed him the opportunity to open up shows for the likes of SiR, Russ, Thundercat, and Still Woozy. Usually staying within the atmosphere of underlying jazz roots, Simon strives to sculpt his own personal sound while captivating his audience with a distinct discography that's recognizable immediately by tasteful piano riffs & unique sound selection.
