Biography
Counting Iron Maiden and Faith No More among their influences, Seasons After is a melodic alternative metal band out of Wichita, Kansas. Formed in 2006 with singer Chris Schlichting, guitarists Chris Dawson and Steve Frank, bassist Michael Byers, and drummer Tim Rails, they self-released their debut album, Through Tomorrow, in 2008. In 2009, the quintet signed with Warner Music Group, and Jim Beattie replaced lead guitarist Frank. Through Tomorrow was given an official label release in the spring of 2010, and their cover of Gerard McMann's "Cry Little Sister" from the 1987 film The Lost Boys made waves after the broader reissue, appearing on Billboard's rock songs charts soon after. Amidst their newfound success, Schlichting suddenly left the band and was replaced by vocalist Tony Housh. After a few years of silence involving legal woes with the label, the band announced a reflective, self-released second LP in the fall of 2014 titled Calamity Scars & Memoirs, with Jesse Saint (Emphatic) replacing Byers on bass. Its single, "Weathered and Worn," returned the band to the rock charts in 2015. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
