Biography

No female voice was better known in Dutch Christian Music then Kinga’s. She started performing when she was 12 and never stopped. After singing in big bands such as Gospel Boulevard, Opwekking and Psalmen voor Nu she joined Sela in 2008. She sang, wrote and performed with the band for 9 years, during which she collaborated on 10 albums and a great many concerts. In 2012 Kinga was diagnosed with metastasized breast cancer. Despite being ill she continued to sing, write and perform. She released her first solo album ‘Uit Liefde’ (For Love) in 2016 followed in 2018 by ‘Vandaag’ (Today) and in 2019 by ‘U Weet Het Toch’ (You Know). She toured with all these albums, despite growing weaker. In an effort to record as much as she could before passing away, she produced two more final albums. In 2019, shortly before her death, she presented ‘Wij Samen’ an album she recorded with her children, Ike, Liva and Kene. This album is an ode to their joined passion of singing. Kinga passed away on May 6, 2019 at the age of 37. After her death, in 2020, her final album was released titled: ‘Geboren’ (Born). All of her vocals were recorded first, and the band was fitted to this later on. This album completed the trilogy of ‘Uit Liefde’ ‘Vandaag’ and ‘Geboren’.
