Biography

International singer-songwriter Nya is one of the greatest editions to today’s pop and modern culture. Her music is most noted for her timeless voice, languid, melancholic songs, and earnest lyricism. Raised in Tampa, Florida, Nya grew up listening to various genres of music influenced by legendary musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, and Fiona Apple, to name a few. Citing inspiration from contemporary innovators, Nya took music to new levels and blended her love for jazz, pop, alternative, R&B, and soul to form her authentic, ethereal sound. In 2021, her single, “HIGH,” reached #21 on the Mediabase national adult contemporary chart and number 26 on the Billboard AC chart. Shortly after, Nya released another single,“Won’t Pick Up The Phone,” which garnered more than 2.6M views on YouTube and placement on MTV. In 2022 Nya saw her best year yet. “Mother’s Daughter,” which addressed her own mother’s mental health issues while she was growing up (co-written by NYA and Brian Kennedy), reached #22 on Billboard’s AC chart; “Closer Than Close,” (co-written by NYA and Grammy® winners Stacy Barthe, Midian and Dwayne Dialo), reaching #32 on the Adult Top 40 chart and #26 on Billboard’s Hot AC chart; “The Real You,” which reached #26 on the Billboard AC chart and the Top 20 on the Adult Contemporary Mediabase chart. Throughout her journey, Nya remains rooted in her personal values of living one’s truth by spreading love and kindness.
