Biography

EVILDEAD was formed in 1987 in Los Angeles, California. EVILDEAD’s debut live appearance was on April 11, 1987 at Fender’s Ballroom in Long Beach, California. The band's blend of speed and thrash metal riffs along with intense drumming, and lyrical themes that explores political, thought provoking social ideas; mixed with horror, and nuclear war themes. The 5-piece group released an Ep entitled “RISE ABOVE” in 1988; which featured two original tracks; along with a cover version of the BLACK FLAG's “Rise Above” this debut generated a strong underground buzz with lots of airplay; which led to a strong fan base. In the summer of 1988, EVILDEAD entered Music Grinder recording studios to record the classic full-length album ANNIHILATION OF CIVILIZATION and was released in September, 1989 on SPV/Steamhammer Records.In 1990 EVILDEAD returned to the recording studio to track their second full length album THE UNDERWORLD released in 1991 to rave reviews; it attributed a more refined metal sound, but generated great reviews. The band disbanded in 1992 but since has returned performing live once again.In 2019 EVILDEAD entered the recording studio with producer Bill Metoyer to record their new album UNITED $TATE$ OF ANARCHY due out October 30, 2020. It will feature ten studio tracks. The band has compiled a collection of new songs that are a throwback to their roots of thrash metal. EVILDEAD has returned more powerful than ever and awakened again to annihilate the masses.
