@mamadouofficiall Poetry was always Mamadou's initial access point to the arts. "As a child, the words in my composition notebook painted the pictures that I saw through my project window. It was the only way I could be a historian in a community misunderstood. The only way of adding internal and external hues, blurring the spectrums between my fantasy and reality, exploitation and invisibility, life and death." Having a canvas to unconventionally paint through the brushstrokes of his breath was Mamadou's remedy and beacon towards self-discovery. Now, 23-year-old Harlem-Malian poet, songwriter, and filmmaker Mamadou. has been able to connect with a wide array of audiences due to his captivating, storytelling ability.
