Biography
@mamadouofficiall Poetry was always Mamadou's initial access point to the arts. "As a child, the words in my composition notebook painted the pictures that I saw through my project window. It was the only way I could be a historian in a community misunderstood. The only way of adding internal and external hues, blurring the spectrums between my fantasy and reality, exploitation and invisibility, life and death." Having a canvas to unconventionally paint through the brushstrokes of his breath was Mamadou's remedy and beacon towards self-discovery. Now, 23-year-old Harlem-Malian poet, songwriter, and filmmaker Mamadou. has been able to connect with a wide array of audiences due to his captivating, storytelling ability. With an illustrious attention to detail, tone, and cadence amidst his genre-bending soundscape, his art amplifies emotional vulnerability across the Black diaspora and unveils the dynamic stories of marginalized communities. Focusing on the harmony between poetry, songwriting, and filmmaking, Mamadou. is poised to become one of his generation's leading storytellers.
