Biography

terilekst (literally “toorelaxed”, state of being; turiya) is represented by visionary artist & music producer Dennis van der Meijden from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. 
 The sound of his beats is characterized by the use of mainly Dutch samples. He produced songs and albums for greats such as Childish Gambino, Anouk, Jiggy Djé, Diggy Dex, Kohfie Konnect, Spacekees & Terilekst, Unorthadox, Extince & many others. In recent years his focus is on making instrumental music and after soundtracks/scores for Danny KAS Stolker's 'FATCAP EXPRESS' (2008) and Brian Elstak's 'LOWREY' (2013) he made the albums 'TURQUOISE' (2016) (this time mainly with live instruments and other musicians) and 'groot' (meaning big) (2020) on which he only used samples from Dutch icon Boudewijn de Groot. The vibe is heavily influenced by (early-mid 90s) Hip Hop, jazz, soul, funk and classical/cinematic music. Next to creating his own artwork, he also did all artwork & design (vinyl/CD/tape) for ‘Jennie Lena sings Michael Jackson’ album (2021) on which he also contributed with drums/beats for ‘I Wanna Be Where You Are’ feat. Tony Newton & ‘Got To Be There’.
