“Isaac Winemiller releases his stunning debut album Levels of Removal. Though the release centers on his struggles with mental health as well as the frustration that results from repeatedly resorting to defense mechanisms in order to cope, there’s an irresistible radiance and sense of warmth to these dream pop tracks that constantly works to brilliantly veil these same frustrations and ruminations at every single moment. Ultimately, Winemiller balances tones and textures with honest narratives in order to speak to the healing power of art in the afterglow of strife and pain: “Whether it be falling in a deep and augmented love with another, dealing with psychosis or grandiose thoughts, or daydreaming of the halcyon age of youth and innocence,” Winemiller explained, “the music serves as a way for me to process through such dissociations and retain a sense of self.”
