Biography

From his roots in West Canada, rapper and musician Ak-Slim blends TrapSoul and Rap in a unique fusion that's earned him fans around the world. Over the past seven years, he's impressed audiences with his blend of hard-hitting club tracks and mellow trap beats, gaining followers from Canada to East Africa, Europe, Australia, and the US. 
 Growing up with a mixed background of Tanzanian, African Canadian, and Nigerian has greatly influenced Ak-Slim's sound and creativity. He cites Canadian hip hop pioneers like K-os, Knaan, Shad, The Rascalz, and Da Grasroots, as well as Tanzanian stars such as Ali Kiba, Diamond Platnumz, and AY, as major inspirations. 
 In 2022, Ak-Slim made history as the first Black rapper from Alberta to top the Canadian hip hop charts with his debut EP "Relentless," reaching #1. He also broke into the top 100 of the all-genre iTunes Canada charts and built a massive following on SoundCloud, surpassing 1 million plays. 
 With a strong work ethic and a distinctive sound, Ak-Slim is poised to become one of Western Canada's breakout artists.
