Biography

With a clear vision, a trunk full of melodies and stories to tell, frontman and songwriter Esben Meyer Kristensen formed country-rock outfit Wild Whens back in 2016. By using elements from several genres, Wild Whens have developed their own type of sound with catchy and melodic guitar-driven songs. The lyrical part of their music is fueled by events and feelings from real life’s fortunes and misfortunes. So far, Wild Whens have released two albums and fourteen singles that have generated 12 million streams on Spotify alone. Their debut single, ”Captain In The Sand” (2017), was a huge success and laid a solid foundation for the band. Later that same year, ”Sally Saloon” was released. ”Sally” is still one of the most popular Wild Whens songs having clocked up over 4 million streams. The band kept the singles coming and the following year saw the release of ”Tornado” which is also still among the fans favourites. In 2020 Wild Whens signed a record deal with Norwegian label Grammofon, and the release of ”Romeo” marked a new era for the band. The song went straight to No 1 and is also included on their new album “Sting of Life” which was released in April 2022.
