    The phrase “niche internet microcelebrity” is all but reserved for Lil Altoid, the cyber-smart DIY rapper out of Michigan. Packing a nimble, animated delivery and witty lyrics into booming, glitched-out beats, Altoid has his finger on the pulse of the genre’s blossoming “rager” side. He draws influence from Ski Mask the Slump God’s bizzaro songwriting as well as the nocturnal debauchery of Playboi Carti. Lots of “meme rappers” claim to be provocateurs– Lil Altoid doesn’t claim to be either.
