Biography
The Japanese ambient folk guitarist, Motohiro Nakashima, explore the music of a scenery in memories. The sounds is calm like The Seto Inland Sea where he grew, and sometimes it has a gloomy expression like a sun setting on the sea. The finger-picking-style guitar plays warm minimalism like a wave, and the melody that reminds people's memories are gentle and friendly. 1st album, “And I Went To Sleep” is far from the current style. The sound is a electric with a cheap rhythm formed by programming. “I Dreamt Constellations Sung” is a work that made the debut album's world view more expanded and programmed in detail. 2008 is a turning point in both life and musical style. Marriage and childbirth have changed my life and thinking about music. “We Hum On The Way Home”, was recorded by acoustic instruments. The album that recorded during the wife's pregnancy, expresses not only the warmth and hope of the family but also the instability and immaturity. In 2010 I moved to my hometown Fukuyama in Hiroshima. The sing-song album “Let's decide to go to the park, because rain stopped.” was born in this background. A few songs born from a child's growth and a piece of everyday life illuminate a small area as the family's smallest soundtrack. "Gathering The Light" is Combining finger-picking-style guitar and ambient instrumentation for emotive minimalist soundscapes, the album illustrates the universal search for light in the darkness, beauty in melancholy.
