Biography
Kardashev is a Progressive Death Metal band focusing on the advancement of the human race through themes of technology, selflessness, love, and altruism. We continue to develop thematic studio albums around a universe all our own. And even created our own language for our lore. Kardashev began from the inspiration of three key bands: The Contortionist Fallujah Aegaeon Our 2012 DEMO, "Progression" is a three-track proof of concept around the hypothetical science of the Kardashev Scale where the majority of our future lore is based. In 2013, we released Excipio under Subliminal Groove Records which began the traveler's journey through time. The EP expands on the direct interactions of the traveler in a short Sci-Fi story focusing on part of the Kardashev scale; Tier 2. At the end of 2014 we set out on a new venture. We released a single song with 8 minutes playtime that has no bearing on the Kardashev universe, but rather a more, "Human" take on our unique style in the song “Iota”. This song is only part I of III. In 2015 we released our first full-length album, “Peripety”. An endeavor again separate from the Kardashev universe, delving more into the atmospheric elements of our music. In 2017, we released another insight into our traveler's story titled “The Almanac”. On May 9, 2021, Kardashev released The Baring of Shadows under Metal Blade Records; an album about pain and loss. Listen to demos and get involved with us at https://kardashevband.com
