Biography
After discovering her love of singing and music at the age of 16, she studied at the Music Academy "Hanns Eisler" Berlin. When the Berlin artist meteorically entered the jazz scene in the early 2000s, she quickly made it clear that the term jazz was too narrow for her. Over the years, she founded the Lisa Bassenge Trio, the nu-jazz band Micatone and the electro-chanson project Nylon, sometimes presenting herself as a popular song interpreter, then as a Hildegard Knef adept or even as a club icon. Lisa Bassenge has now created a new musical environment for herself. Her internationally cast trio, consisting of the Swedish pianist Jacob Karlzon and the Danish bassist Andreas Lang, digs deep into the world of songs. With classics like 'Still crazy after all these years', 'Norwegian Wood', soul tunes like 'I feel like breaking up somebody's home', Waren Zevon's 'Keep me in your heart' or the songs of great female composers and songwriters such as Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Suzanne Vega and PJ Harvey find their way into the programme along with Billie Eilish. In her song interpretations, Lisa Bassenge relies on her versatile and exceptionally soulful voice. First-class singer-songwriter jazz with depth and poetry. Her music has always remained young and has a high recognition value thanks to her unique voice. Music for people without stereotypes in their minds.
