Biography
Hailing from San Diego, CA & playing silvery themes of inflammable emo, Noise Ratchet claims their very own corner on the Emo Rock scene. Forming in April ‘99, the lineup including Joel Hosler (bass/vocals), Danny Lothspeich (guitar), Roger Molina (guitar), and Brandon Young (drums). Influenced by the works of bands like @JimmyEatWorld, @SunnyDayRealEstate & @TheAppleseedCast, these SoCal kids assembled the most raving sounds of rock with emo's melodic assets, delivering a unique sound of their own. After a year of writing, the band started performing around the local club scene, quickly releasing the EP “Why We Cry” achieving considerable results not only locally, but beyond SoCal. In ‘01 they added bassist Jon Jameson (Life Once Lost/@AsILayDying) & Hosler went to Lead Vocals. Following major tours all across the Midwest & West Coast, the band entered the studio, recording their first full-length album, ‘02’s Till We Have Faces releasing on The Militia Group (@Rufio, @Copeland, @TheRocketSummer, @TheAppleseedCast ). A self-titled EP followed in ‘03. Known for a mesmerizing live performance, the band soon caught the interest of many major labels & signed with Producer Rick Rubin’s label American Recordings. That Dec the band entered the studio to record their Major Label debut but w/ Major Labels suffering due to online streaming the album was shelved & with no tour support the band disbanded. Jon & Brandon went on to form the Americana outfit @DeltaSpirit.
