Biography
With their background of growing up in rural Alberta as well as sharing common interests in jazz and country, Mike Caldwell (vocals), Corby Lund (bass), Dug Bevans (guitar), and Terry Johnson (drums) began the smalls in 1990 as a way for something to do outside of attending community college in Edmonton. Accompanied by their influence of Nomeansno, D.O.A., and SNFU, the smalls self-released their self-titled debut in 1990, followed by To Each a Zone in 1992 and Waste and Tragedy in 1995. After an extensive touring schedule throughout North America and Corby Lund focusing on his aptly named county act the Corb Lund Band, the smalls fourth album, My Dear Little Angel, was released in 1999 through Green Pepper Records. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi
