An amalgam of Beatnik porch-jazz, mystical mountain song, circus folk-hop with a dash of R&B chanteuse, Handmade Moments are kaleidoscopic children of the Ozarks. Anna Moss and Joel Ludford are kindred spirits and multi-instrumentalists, their salt-of-the-earth connection grabs you by the hand and fills your heart with emotions, leaping into the sky or longing for a simpler time. An organic afghan woven of alto sax, bass clarinet, sousaphone, mandolin, guitar and more, Handmade Moments delivered the critically-acclaimed LP Eye in the Sky in 2015. The Arkansas-bred duo toured extensively across the U.S. and into South America, before tragedy derailed their career and threatened their lives and livelihood. On that fateful afternoon in Northern California, their beloved bio-diesel bus- that they spent six months laboring to build, and lived, toured and gigged in for nearly a year- was struck by two vehicles in a harrowing head-on collision. From those ashes came 2018’s masterful Paw Paw Tree (Jumpsuit Records) which saw Moss and Ludford unveil their story of rebirth and remarkable triumph through distilled, mature songcraft.
