Biography

As a producer, Zack Mitchell has never been one to shy away from the cosmic. His first three albums as Blackbird Belle were tailored for headphone cosmonauts, boasting beautiful beats imbued with allusions to celestial nocturnes, mythical kingdoms, and worlds within worlds. Love The Bomb is the fourth album in this saga, and it arrives with a caveat - escapism can only take your creativity so far. We all love to have our head in the clouds, but everyone needs to come back to Earth once in a while. That idea, and inspiration for the album were both drawn from the subtitle of Stanley Kubrick’s 1964 film, Dr. Strangelove (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb). As a creative touchstone, the personal impact of that tagline became increasingly significant over time. To summarize: in order to survive, you must learn to embrace the chaos you cannot control. Listening to the record, it's apparent that this was taken to heart. Ensorcelling the Oracle drifts into existence in a haze of filtered ambience, quickly locking into a relentless groove of amped guitar, soulful vocals, and perfectly punctuated percussion. Elsewhere, the immaculate vibe of Elemental’s ethereal odyssey elevates listeners to new heights, while joyous, rollicking drum breaks and infectious riffs permeate the title track, casting sun-soaked, brilliant beams of luminance across every surface of the mind. Love The Bomb is Blackbird Belle’s fourth album, and will be self-released on November 4th, 2022.
