Biography

Yung Kell’s confessional approach to songwriting and fusion of pop-punk, emo, and trap provides a catchy yet heartbreaking take on the emo rap genre. Starting in 2018, Kellyn (Kellen) Reiner began making songs under the Yung Kell moniker. After experiencing his first manic attack, Kell found music to be an ideal outlet for feelings he otherwise couldn’t express. He seeks to raise mental health awareness, and more specifically bipolar awareness through his music. Influenced by the artists coming out of the mid 2010 soundcloud scene, he has since refined and honed in on his style while finding room to experiment and blend with different genres. This artistic growth and experimentation has been bolstered by a wide range of producers that he frequently collaborates with including Holt Stairs, taxpurposes, Sorrow Bringer, splashgvng, and Pete Los. These collaborations have led to a discography filled with amazing production, great songwriting, and emotionally captivating songs.
