Biography

The Cattarse is a Power Trio heavy sound, with clear riffs, an exciting show and the presence of unmistakable stage, doing what its name suggests: a catharsis in their presentations. Their sound is often compared to the seventies rock with modern pinches. His lyrics deal with human neuroses and affective relationships, having as its main songwriter guitarist and vocalist Igor van der Laan. Founded in 2008, Cattarse is a brazilian band of Stoner / Hard / Blues / Rock, composed by brothers Igor van der Laan (guitar / vocals), Yuri van der Laan (bass / vocals) and Diogo Stolfo (drums / vocals). In 2011 the band released their first EP, entitled "Certainty" and in the same year, was selected to participate in the Music Festival and Porto Alegre Youth at the “Opinião Bar” and was the winner of the Pre-Cosquin band contest, which had as the award-winning presence in the programming of one of the biggest festivals in Latin America, Cosquín Rock in Cordoba in Argentina. Currently the band is formed by Igor van der Laan, on guitar and vocals, Yuri van der laan, on bass and backing vocals and Diogo Stolfo, on drums and backing vocals, and has become one of the leading names of Stoner Rock in the south of Brazil.
