Biography

Maki Nomiya was the third vocalist to sing lead vocalswith Pizzicato Five. She was the original influencer of musicians and fashion icons in Shibuya Culture which gained much popularity in the 90s. In 1994, Pizzicato Five broke the international scene with an album which sold more than 500,000 copies in countries all over the world.She has a worldwide reputation for singing, Mick Jagger and Tim Burton have professed to being fans. When the group disbanded in 2001, she embarked on a solo career. From 2012, she developed a music project "Maki Nomiya sings Shibuya-kei Standards " that continues to sing famous songs of Shibuya-kei and its roots. She released 5 albums, 1st place in the ORICON weekly JAZZ album ranking and 1st place in the Billboard Japan JAZZ chart and energetically performed live activities. In 2021, she will celebrate her 40th anniversary of her debut, and she is active in various fields such as music, fashion, health & beauty production, and essayist. 1960年生まれ。1981年「ピンクの心」でソロ・デビュー。1982年結成のポータブル・ロックを経て、1990年ピチカート・ファイヴに加入。元祖“渋谷系の女王”として「渋谷系」ムーブメントを世界各国で巻き起こし、以来、音楽・ファッションアイコンとしてワールドワイドに活躍。現在は“渋谷系とそのルーツの名曲を歌い継ぐ”音楽プロジェクト「野宮真貴、渋谷系を歌う。」を行うなど、ソロアーティストとして活動。2021年はデビュー40周年を迎え、音楽、ファッションやヘルス＆ビューティーのプロデュース、エッセイストなど多方面で活躍している。 www.missmakinomiya.com
