Biography
The Sweeplings are a folk-pop duo comprising Washington native Cami Bradley and Alabama native Whitney Dean. Dean, a former touring bandmate of Civil Wars singer/songwriter John Paul White, first saw Bradley perform as a contestant on the NBC reality contest America's Got Talent. Struck by her voice, he reached out to her to see if she'd be interested in co-writing some songs. A 2014 visit to meet her in Spokane yielded an immediate musical chemistry between them and their cross-country partnership was born. An initial four-song EP and a handful of singles revealed a penchant for haunting, tender harmonies and a roots-inspired sound that bears similarities to the Civil Wars as well as more pop-oriented indie folk acts. Their debut album, Rise & Fall, was released in 2015. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
