Biography
SMALL TOWN PIMPS STP was formed in 1993 in Sundsvall, Sweden. Pickin’ up the beat from their childhood idols; Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Burnette and the Stray cats. Their furious high energy playing went straight in the genre of ”psychobilly” but true to the original setup; Upright bass, Gretsch guitar and a tiny drum kit. Psychobilly/Neorockabilly , the more punky style of the authentic rockabilly, spearheaded by such european bands like the Meteors, Batmobile and Mad Sin. STP became known as a true rock’n’roll live act and performed throughout Sweden and later on toured Germany, France, Denmark, Finland and appeared at the Psychobilly Meeting Festival, Barcelona Spain. Cutting their first record 1995 on the Crazy Love Records label and then on the KnockOut Records label. The albums ”Pimplyified”, ”For a Few Hookers More”, ”B-I-N-G-O!”, ”Sexparty IV” , all original material was released throughout 1995-2009 where also a best of album and one coveralbum was made (Red Light Classics and red Light Classics). STP called it quits in 2009 but made an applauded reunion tour in 2016 sounding better than ever! STP-fans around the world has always loved their happy, speedy and funny songs about zombies, hookers and rock’n’roll. Always with humorous twist and a twinkle in the eye!
