Biography
Cosmic sonic architects All India Radio have created shimmering aural edifices - a fusion of psychedelia, prog rock, ambience, and pure dreamy pop creates something greater than the sum of its parts: a monument to the creativity and vision of songwriter Martin Kennedy in the control room of the band since its inception. Kennedy does not hide the source code for his inspiration: All India Radio covered Pink Floyd ’s ‘Set The Controls for the Heart of The Sun’ and used artwork by veteran British artist David A Hardy, originally intended for the cover of what was to become ‘Dark Side of the Moon’, for the album ‘Space’. The strength of the band is augmented by the ability to bring out the best in others through collaborations. For example, his album 2021 album ‘Jupiter 13’ with iconic indie star Steve Kilbey from The Church was listed by UK magazine Backseat Mafia as one of the best albums of 2021. Kennedy has also collaborated with prog metal legend Devin Townsend who guested on All India Radio’s most recent release ‘Afterworld’. Kennedy was drawn into Townsend’s orbit after Townsend fell in love with All India Radio’s album ’The Slow Light’ and the song “Can You Hear The Sound’, which he covered as part of his Quarantine Project in 2020.
