Biography
Music is nothing if it doesn't evolve and "Echoes Of Tomorrow", the brand new album from Berlin-based Siamese Youth, is certainly about evolution. The Synthwave duo made a remarkable start – signed by the genre's biggest and most influential label NewRetroWave Records the band took the Retroscene by storm. Any band is faced with a certain amount of pressure to follow up a succesful debut, but any question of how they would deal with this are answered with progression, evolution and self-confidence. The bands debut album "Electric Dreams" was released in 2019. Whereas the first record had a certain softness and sheen to its delivery, this time out the experience is a more energetic, upbeat and even visceral one. Echoes of Tomorrow widens the previous pop-orientated palette to include more anthemic and experimental sounds alongside their core synth sonics. The album opens up a new world – for the listener and the band itself. Overcoming personal hardships, pandemic restrictions and the constraint to come back with something new and exciting proved to bring out the best in the band. It is the sound of a band fighting - Fighting to overcome all the obstacles in their way to make the best album they could. And the result is a record which succeeds on all levels. Whereas Electric Dreams played with no small amount of nostalgia, was a tip of the hat to certain 80's electronic-pop pioneers, "Echoes Of Tomorrow" is the sound of a band looking only forward.
