Biography
A band from New Zealand that plays a mix of roots reggae, funk, soul, and rock, Tahuna Breaks made their album debut in 2007 with Reflections. Founded in 2005 in Auckland, New Zealand, the band is comprised of Marty Greentree (vocals, guitar), Tom Charleson (guitar), James Winkle (bass), Tim Gemmell (drums), Kelsey Serjeant (saxophone), Jonny McClean (saxophone), Tim Baker (trumpet), and Adam Fuhr (keyboards). Tahuna Breaks' debut album, Reflections, spawned a few singles ("Voodoo," "Real Life," "Casually Acquainted") and garnered lots of airplay for the band. The follow-up album, Black Brown & White (2009), entered the New Zealand charts at number 12 and spawned the singles "Empower Me" and "Black Brown & White." The band toured New Zealand as well as Australia in support of the album, including festival performances such as Big Day Out. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
