Biography
Stephen Edwards is one of today’s most in-demand, prolific film & television composers. An accomplished pianist heard on Hollywood’s top soundtracks, Edwards has also won acclaim for his original orchestral & choral compositions that have been performed at Carnegie Hall and the Vatican. Edwards’ songs & instrumental compositions are featured in top grossing films including the multiple Oscar-winning Dallas Buyers Club, The Prestige, and many others. His work can also be heard on television series such as Two & a Half Men, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mad Men, ER, and over 50 others. Edwards’ feature-length documentary, Requiem for My Mother, earned high praise from acclaimed composer John Williams, who wrote: “Your requiem is a lovely work! It seems heart-felt and honest, and contains a delicate innocence…making it a touching tribute to a Mother from a loving son.” The Requiem CD peaked at #3 on the Billboard Classical Charts in 2017 and won a Hollywood Music & Media award for outstanding Classical Composition. His music education began at an early age with training by his mother, Rosalie Edwards. His musical passions broadened and deepened during his years as a student at Interlochen followed by studies at Lawrence University, where he received a bachelor of music in piano performance. A citizen of both the US & Italy, Edwards lives in California with his two daughters. When not composing and playing music, he enjoys golfing, hiking, & collecting Steinway pianos.
