Biography
The Harmaleighs are a Nashville-based indie duo comprised of Haley Grant and Kaylee Jasperson. The pair recently signed to Nettwerk Music Group and will release their new album, She Won’t Make Sense, this summer. Produced by Dan Molad (Lucius, JD McPherson, Tweedy), She Won’t Make Sense is a stark contrast from their previous releases, having evolved from their acoustic beginnings to a fuller sound involving synths, strings and drums. The album covers the full spectrum of sound, from heavier rock tunes to somber folk, to create the frenetic energy needed to convey the emotional weight of the album’s subject matter. She Won’t Make Sense is a concept album about mental illness, specifically Haley’s personal journey through anxiety, depression and mania. From shifting mental states to the ending of relationships, a lot has happened for Haley and Kaylee in the last year. But for all the unease the album transmits, a sense of resilience shines through, even in the most vulnerable of moments.
