Biography

English Bio: Boris Larramendi was born in Cuba in 1970. Around 1990, he was one of the founding members of the mythical "13 y 8 Peña" where he began to write and perform his own songs. In 1995, he participated with his band "Debajo" in the recording of "Habana Oculta", an anthology of young Cuban songwriters produced by Pável Urkiza and Gema Corredera. In 1996, in Madrid, he became one of the founding members of Habana Abierta, a collective of eight Cuban songwriters and participated in the recording of all of the three albums of that project, "Habana Abierta" 1998, "24 Horas" 1999 and "Boomerang" 2005. He also toured with that group throughout Spain, Europe, USA and Cuba. In 2005 he was hired as a front man of the " Habana Blues Band" and toured Spain for two years with great success. As a soloist, he has recorded 6 albums, "Yo no tengo la culpa" 2002, "Libre" 2009, "Felicidad" 2010 , "La Cibertimba & El Bárbaro" 2013, "Samurai" 2018, and “Yo vine a querer” 2021. While in Habana Abierta he collaborated with a lot of artists, such Ana Belén, Lucrecia, Bebo Valdés, Alain Pérez, Raimundo Amador etc. Now he lives in Miami and continues making his music.
