Biography
Los Kumbia Kings remained at the forefront of Latin pop for years on end, primarily as a producers with a long track record as a hit songwriters. Their recording career began (1997), the first of many albums that Kumbia Kings would produce and co-write themselves. Kumbia Kings, a bilingual hitmaking collective that fused traditional Mexican music (cumbia, above all) with urban American styles (hip-hop, funk, R&B, reggae), topping it all off with a slick sheen of easily enjoyable pop accessibility. Los Kumbia Kings, always preceded in billing plus scored too many hits to list, and following their debut album, they began hitting number one with regularity. The group unraveled, however, following the release of their fourth album, 4 (2003), as all the leading members of the group, including frontmen Frankie J and DJ Kane, left with references to "the business" and how they'd learned a lot in Los Kumbia Kings. Fast forward to 2019 the Kumbia Kings have reunited the original members from both 1st and 2nd generations led by original founder member Cruz Martínez and have had an outstanding return to the music industry especially en the concert touring breaking attendance records through out Latin America averaging more then 140+ full venue capacities the 2018-2019. They strong rumor is they are launching a their new studio record in more then 10 years which has their fan base anxious to hear.
