Biography
Netherlands-born producer Malvae a.k.a Jim van der Breggen creates his avant garde electronic music from organic samples he records with field recorders which he manipulates into warm and dense productions. He quickly climbed the ladder releasing his track “Haunts Me (feat. Esther Veen)” & his “Forward EP” with Ambassadeurs label imprint ‘Lost Tribe’ back in 2017, reaching the viral charts in the USA and a feature in the Netflix series Terrace House in Japan. In 2018 he released with Cloudkid for singles “How It Hurts (feat. Esther Veen) & Running Away Continuing independently in 2019 with Dwly and in 2020 with his debut 13 track full-length “Amazonas” he embarked on a months-long journey through the Amazon Rainforest while documenting his life-changing expedition. The entire album was created from sounds he recorded in this vast space to create awareness for protecting this natural treasure. He also created a visualiser of all the video material he recorded on the journey, gaining attention from music tastemakers like Dancing Astronaut & Run The Trap just to name a few. Now in 2022 , he has returned with his anticipated single's “Feels Like Forever” & "Roots" The production is filled with manipulated textures created from his field recordings while traveling to multiple parts of the world back in 2019. Some of the drums the listeners may hear were sampled in Cartagena, Colombia where Malvae recorded a Colombian street band. Contact: hello@malvaemusic.com
