Biography

Rising from Grand Rapids is one of Michigan's fastest-growing indie acts: Pretoria has been pumping out one sunny, heartfelt track after another. Founded by Josh Bilisko (guitar), Rob Gullett (bass/lead vocals), and Ben DeWitt (drums), the group began as a three-piece punk band in 2018. After their archived self-titled EP (2018), the group began writing in a more mellow, indie-rock tone for which they are now known. In March of 2019, Matt Burdick (guitar) joined the band as they worked on the release of their EP, Cape Town, released in the same year. The band's fresh rendition of the jangle-pop, indie-style continues to catch on with grooves like Gently, Skinny Dip, and Expert. With the addition of Matt Pavlock (guitar), the five-piece looks to embark on a lifelong journey of making memorable music.
