Biography

Born in Maputo, Mozambique, NickoJOURNEY has been a staple in the local upcoming scene. A versatile rapper/singer, his eclectic taste and multi-genre sound has separated him from his peers, establishing him as one of Mozambique's next musical exports. With unmatched charisma and lyrical depth, his music is as complex as it is functional; shedding light on the mindset of this young rapper/singer. A love for writing (from poetry) led to him pursuing music as a career. At 19, his sophomore year in Business at local college ISCTEM, he was performing in cultural houses like the Centre Culturel Franco-Mozambicain à Maputo (The French Cultural Centre in Maputo) and the Centro Cultural Brasileiro em Maputo (The Brasilian Cultural Centre) as part of collaborative projects with fellow performance artists such as Os Continuadores (Tiago Correia-Paulo of 340ml fame & Trkz), IronBr11, $orr¥ and art collective The Other Room. Now living in San Francisco (where he's pursuing a degree in Film), he's gearing up to break into the U.S. market, collaborating with local artists.
