Biography

Inspired by the musical talents of her father, Doo Wop & Soul singer, Don Haywoode, of The Velours and The Fantastics, Singer, Songwriter, Performer Sidney Haywoode began her creative education whilst watching her Dad perform their 70s hit top 10 chart hit song ‘Something Old Something New’ on the BBC Television show Top of The Pops. At 13yrs old, while studying music dance and acting at London’s esteemed Corona Stage Academy, Haywoode also started to work professionally where she built a strong resume encompassing Stage, TV and Movies including West End’s Bubbling Brown Sugar, Superman Benny Hill Show, Gentle Touch, BBC’s Top of The Pops among others. Haywoode’s debut single, ‘A Time Like This’ released on CBS Records was with Billy Ocean on backing vocals. It entered the UK Pop Chart at #48, Top #5 in the US Hot Dance Club Chart and established her own brand of spirited dance Pop Soul music. Club favorites like “I Can’t Let You Go” “Getting Closer”, “Better not fool Around” and her smash hit Roses garnered the affection of fans worldwide which culminated with her first album ‘Arrival’.
