Biography
Award winning songwriter, rapper, singer and poet combines elements of rap, pop, r&b, and electro to craft a sound all his own Johnathan “JDP” Pratt was born on the south side of Chicago. In 2009, JDP released the mixtape “Air Raid”, the mixtapeʼs pop infused single “Release” led to JDPʼs inclusion in URB Magazineʼs annual Next 100 issue alongside Drake, Theophilus London and Freddie Gibbs. Since then JDP's music has been heard by people all over the world. Music from his last release 2014's In Pursuit: Side A has been featured in TV, Film, in the internationally released video game "Watch Dogs", and more. The follow up, In Pursuit: Side B was released the following year. In 2018 JDP and his group Swim Team released their debut project, Muse Project featuring Save Money's Brian Fresco, & Grammy award winning J.Ivy. As a songwriter, in 2017 JDP wrote the music for season 3 of the Go90/Awesomeness series, Guidance. All of the songs from the show were compiled and released as the EP Give It To Me Straight. In April of that year, the Netflix series, Ask The Storybots, won an Emmy and the win included JDP's music which was used throughout both the series and the accompanying app. Next up for JDP is the completion of his latest EP, "Where Were You When" due to be released in 2019.
