Klymaxx was once voted by BET viewers , as one of their top 5 female groups of all time, behind The Supremes, Destiny's Child, En Vogue & TLC. The LA based all female band was founded by drummer Bernadette Cooper. The lead singers are bass player, Joyce Irby (Fenderella), & Lorena Stewart, with Lynn Malsby & Robbin Grider on keyboards, Cheryl Cooley & Grider on guitars. The Men All Pause was the groups first hit, written by Joyce Irby & Bernadette Cooper. Lynn Malsby, penned their blockbuster hit I Miss You & Irby's lead vocals were routinely compared to early an Michael Jackson , (Boston Globe). Lorena "Lungs" Stewart, powerfully delivered the title track of their 1st hit album, Meeting In The Ladies Room. The groups self titled Klymaxx album, spawned 4 more hits. Rod Temperton’s Man Size Love was a top 20 pop hit, as was I'd Still Say Yes produced by Irby and co written by Babyface. Cooper contributed 2 top 20 Urban hits, Divas Need Love Too & Sexy co produced by Irby's mentor, George Clinton . In 2004, VH1 featured Klymaxx on "Bands Reunited". The show highlighted one member's attempt to steal the name from the others. Cooper & Irby did solo projects. Irby teamed up with Doug E. Fresh for her Billboard #1 selling hit Mr. D.J. Cooper's I Look Good (Interview With Bernadette Cooper) was covered by Bette Midler
