Biography
Terry Akewe, popularly known as Terri, is fast becoming a force to reckon with as a singer, songwriter and performer. Born on 27th of May 1999 in Lagos, Nigeria, he is the oldest of four siblings and hails from Edo State, Nigeria. Terri discovered his passion and love for music in secondary school. After performing and recording as part of duo, which became very popular with his peers and won the 2013 City People Talent Hunt, Terri decided to go full throttle with his music. In December 2017, he got a call that turned his life around. Superstar, Wizkid had heard his cover of “Oshe” (DJ Jimmy Jatt feat. Wizkid) and hit him up, expressing his interest in signing him to the Starboy Entertainment imprint. Terri got officially signed to Wizkid’s Starboy Entertainment in March 2018 and was immediately featured on arguably the biggest song of 2018, “SOCO”. Terri’s sound can be classified as Afro-Pop but his versatility in songwriting and vocal delivery sits distinctively on nearly any music genre. His sound is influenced by Wizkid, Burna Boy, Kwesi Arthur, Casper Nyvoest, Khalid, Drake, and Tory Lanez. With over 30 million combined streams across platforms, Terri never falls short of incredible delivery on every song.
