Biography

Ascension are a 5 piece Power Metal band from Scotland. Formed in 2009, the band released their debut album 'Far Beyond the Stars' in 2012 under Spiritual Beast & Limb Music to critical acclaim, with influences ranging from DragonForce to Stratovarius and everything in between. A range of successful tour dates and festival appearances over the years led to the release of Under the Veil of Madness in 2023, the band's 2nd full length album. Under the Veil of Madness delves into lunacy and psychotic behaviour in all of its forms, all of our protagonists and antagonists poisoned by the infamous 'Pages of Gold' - a gold leafed collection of musical manuscripts cursed for all of time, and conceived by the mysterious and unnamed 'Dark Composer' with the sole intent of corrupting souls and bringing death and misery to the world.
