Biography
Born in Iran, of Armenian descent but raised in Amsterdam. He called himself RBDJAN a.k.a. ‘Hittespitter’. The rapper grew up on the streets of de Bijlmer, Nieuwmarkt and Tuindorp, where he met his friends and the rap group Thc emerged. In 2004, the rapper participated in the hit single ‘Ballen Tot We Vallen’ by DJ Chuckie This song became a great success and RBDJAN introduced himself for the first time to the public. Thereafter, the rapper and his friends form the rap group Thc, the Tuindorp Hustler Click. The group becomes a great success in the Dutch hip-hop scene, with popular songs as Wil je weten hoe et voelt and Zina. RBDJAN issued his first single, De Troon, in 2011, followed in the same year by the full-length release of his first solo album De Onderbaas. His second single was, Hier Ben Ik Dan with none other than multi platinum recording artist Mr. Probz. All discs were released on Univeral Music, with De Onderbaas reaching no.25 on the Dutch album charts. In 2013, RBDJAN released his EP Renaissance. The EP includes collaborations with artists such as Sjaak, Brownie Dutch, Darryl and Ali B In 2018, his second album King hit the charts at no.52 in it's first week dispite not being signed to a major! Artist featured on the album are Adje, Josylvio, Lijpe, Jayh, Hansie, Diggy Dex, Kempi, Neenah and Dicecream Seen by many as one of the founding fathers of the dutch hiphop scene and regarded as a top tier lyricist, RBDJAN is in a league of his own.
