We live in a time where violence runs free
And this problem continues to happen every day
And with courts that have allowed these criminals to go free
The thugs continue on as if they were to say
I can do anything that I want when I please
Without any significant price to be paid
So how can we build a society that's safe
If these people are allowed to do as they please
This direction that we are headed will eventually fail
If the laws of this land are then broken with ease
And the place that we call home might never be the same
And the changes that are made might not go away
So the future of the people that live on this land
Will depend if our choices are good or bad
And the children that are now being born today
Might not have the same chances that all of us had
And the future of this world now stands on the edge
Of going to far to be changed from bad back to good
Our future lies on our decisions at hand
