This heavy metal / power metal crew is known for melodic riffing and lyrical bombast. Founded by former Tyran Pace and Gamma Ray vocalist Ralf Scheepers & bassist Mat Sinner, the band's compelling blend of speed and melody evokes NWOBHM greats like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Primal Fear is a fixture in the European heavy metal scene and found mainstream success with the release of Unbreakable (2012) and Delivering the Black (2014), charting worldwide. Primal Fear's eponymous album featured a guest appearance by guitarist Kai Hansen of Helloween and Gamma Ray fame. 2001's Nuclear Fire LP led to the band's first US appearances at large metal festivals, 2002, releasing Black Sun, which featured a guest spot from Halford six-stringer Mike Chlasciak. 2004's Devil's Ground included one of Primal Fear's hits, "Metal Is Forever," promoted via a massive world tour in Europe, Japan, United States, Latin America. 2005, Seven Seals tour alongside power metal gods Helloween. New Religion, featured a guest vocal from Epicas Simone Simons and orchestral arrangements from Matz Ulmer and Sinners Mat Sinner. 2009, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead heralded the arrival of virtuosic Magnus Karlsson. 2012, Unbreakable became Primal Fear chartbreaker in the US, 2014 with Delivering the Black, 2016 with album Rulebreaker. 2020, the album, Metal Commando, charted at #7 on the official album charts.
