“Your Loss was inspired by my first real breakup, and it’s the song I wished I had then. A song telling me that I will get through this. It feels overwhelming, but it’s true that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” All 17-year-old Mari Bølla has ever wanted to do is to sing. Fiercely determined, talented, hardworking and aware that she is extremely lucky to have family and friends that support her and have allowed her to – literally – find her voice. And what a voice! At 15 the girl with the powerful voice was the youngest ever winner of Idol in any country, not just her native Norway. The victory gave her the push she needed to go all in as an artist and songwriter. “Your Loss” is a song written and sung from the heart, because to Mari Bølla it’s not just about having a powerful voice, but also about conveying a powerful message. She is participating in the Norwegian Eurovision contest 2022, hoping to be able to represent Norway in the international finale, and her heat is on Saturday 29th January.
