Biography
Dylan J is disrupting the preconceived stereotype of how an artist must be attached to a single genre. As diverse as he is charming, the Melbourne based Artist/Songwriter absorbs creative inspiration from almost every genre, ranging from Rap, Pop, RnB & Country, invoking a combination of nostalgia and progressive influences in his work – Dylan is crossing genre borders left, right and centre. Dylan’s second release of 2023 Fuck the Internet is a pop punk-tinged manifesto against the personas people portray online. Fun and bouncy sonically with a belting chorus filled with angst, Dylan expresses his frustration with the aftereffects of a social media obsessed society. ‘Fuck The Internet’ is actually less about the internet itself and more about struggling to connect with someone properly because of it. It’s about how easily the internet can influence the way we act and ultimately who we end up becoming. I actually love so much about the internet, but there’ll always be things not to love about it. To pull the anthem together, Dylan teamed up with friends and longtime collaborators Tyron Hapi ( Multi-Platinum producer of Masked Wolf’s Top 10 Billboard single Astronaut In The Ocean) and Melbourne’s pop sensation Raria. Fuck The Internet is available everywhere on 7 July 2023
