Biography

DJ, music producer, and globe-trotter, iZem has spent the last 15 years exploring the connections between cultures, music, and technology around the world. After working in record stores and radio stations in Paris, he lived in Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Ireland, and then 8 years in Lisbon, where he released his first album "Hafa" in 2016 on the English label, Soundway Records. Supported by personalities such as Gilles Peterson, Bonobo, Mount Kimbie, Quantic, and Branko, and having collaborated with legends such as Elza Soares, Mayra Andrade, Sara Tavares, and Guts, iZem is now back in France. Ahead of the imminent release of his second album, and after EPs released on Heavenly Sweetness and Enchufada, iZem recently won over both the public and press thanks to his project with Brazilian artist Luiz Gabriel Lopes, titled "Yemamaya," an EP with hybrid sounds between Afro-Brazilian influences and electronic funk. Ready to share his passion for music and nomadic sounds, iZem continues to create unique and fascinating musical experiences, constantly pushing the boundaries of musical styles and cultural borders.
