Biography

Rein started out as a young chorister travelling the world in the NRK boys choir, Sølvguttene. Today he's both an educated and self-taught performer, who puts a lot of pride into the way he conveys different forms of musical genres. He is constantly challenging himself, something he believes is key to keeping the passion for music and singing alive. Norway, USA, Iceland, London, Italy and Sweden are all places he has called home at some stage in his life - both as a student and as a professional performer. His strong foundations at institutions such as the Royal Academy of Music, and The Reykjavik academy of Singing and Vocal Arts, have been vital for his career as well as his further development and dedication as a singer. Rein Alexander has a large number of concerts and tours behind him. He is also well renowned as a theatrical performer, including roles such as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, Anatoly in Chess, Terje Vigen, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Shere Kahn in the Junglebook and Anton Fugger in Which witch, to name but a few. Back in 2020, Rein participated in the Norwegian Eurovision final, where he quickly became one of the favourites after impressing the audience with his viking performance and song, One Last Time. He is back again this year, and will compete in the Norwegian Eurovision final on the 20th of February 2021 with his entry this year, Eyes Wide Open witch is written together with Christian Ingebrigtsen and Kjetil Mørland .
