Biography
Mélanie René, Swiss British singer songwriter and topliner, was chosen to represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 in Vienna, Austria. After graduating from two UK music universities, ACM and BIMM, Mélanie came back to Switzerland for the Eurovision Song Contest national finale. Her song “Time to Shine”, her own composition, was voted both by the jury members and the audience as the song that would represent the country. In the midst of the ESC promotion, she released “Little Girl” as a b-side track, which got great feedbacks from fans. Following the contest, Mélanie released another single “On avait rêvé”, in the hope of releasing an EP soon after. In the meantime, caught up in the end of the year holidays’ spirit, Melanie released a Christmas EP, featuring two of her own compositions “Lullaby” and “Lettre de Noël”. In 2018, Mélanie veered towards a more personal musical journey, becoming an independent solo electro pop artist with a new stage name: Melyz . Melyz has another Spotify page, on which she released early 2019 her first original EP “Don’t Tell On Us”, an Electro Dark Pop anthem where she embraces both her glam and her dark sides. Her latest track (as Melyz) “Bad Together” was released early April 2020, and marks her transition into womanhood. The song definitely sets the tone for her upcoming second EP: raw, unapologetic, sexy and fierce. More info on www.melyz.com
